@Mr_P_Hillips I was shocked when starting to teach in Scotland. In Sweden, it is white walls one max 2 boards that are painted white & used for displaying kids work. As a teacher in Sweden we were taught to think of how to create a calm atmosphere and reduce visual stress.
When a young person doesn't feel safe,their cortex won't be accessible.The nervous system is activated and the learning brain shuts down.When young people feel,heard,safe, understood through a place of relationships and regulation,only then will the cortex be accessible.π§ π±
