@EHuanglu But you'll still need VFX artists who knows how to use these tools properly. Especially if you want to get something that was not done before. I hate that we praise AI for recreating something that was already carefully crafted by humans.
@EHuanglu In my opinion the AI version looks very cheap. Nowadays 1 freelancer could do something like that for a lot cheaper than 1.5 mill.
1.5 mill was spent on it because they wanted to master and perfect those shots and that is why it remained such a memorable scene.
@EHuanglu Yes, it looks astonishing, it is good to have such tech for creating previs shots for example, or I bet people start to use it widely in the advertisement industry, where this quality is already good enough for most brands.
@EHuanglu Also keep in mind that the AI version is not Art Directable almost at all. Plus the 1.5 mill version was used to train the AI to get a similar effect. It is not like you can just tell the AI to make something that was not done before and you'll get amazing results.
@wudijo You did well! The situation indeed sucks and it is unfortunate. I think now knowing this you should request EHG to remove your access to the CT, so you aren't automatically disqualified from any future races.
As the next steps in my Learning #Houdini journey I have studied and experimented with RBD, debris and pyro (smoke and fire) simulations.
Left: Manual placement and timing of destruction point.
Right: Advection from explosion velocity field.
(Results are viewport flipbooks.)
Recently I am learning #Houdini in my freetime and I am also a student of Mesharray's VFX course.
Here is one of my recent works where I had to create a "disintegration" animation without using Vellum or RBD sims. My main focus was to practice particle and pyro simulations.
@jalda_baoth1 @michaelmiraflor@kimmonismus It is all about supply and demand. And I am 100% sure there won't be a high demand for these kinds of AI contents.
AI will be used in many fields, but we can already see how people are fed up with all the AI generated images all over the internet.
@michaelmiraflor@kimmonismus It is not even equivalent of a modern video game cutscene. There is a huge gap in my opinion. AI still generates strangely Uncanny Valley shots. It will definitely improve, but It is far from replacing any AA and AAA work as it is right now.
@PezRadar I think this does not only improve the performance, but also improve visibility at Party content and World Events.
Are you planning to implement this option. It would be lovely and highly appreciated. It is very hard at bossing to see what is going on with a 4 player party.
@PezRadar Actually I have a more important question, regardless of the actual Evade animation bug?
Some games like Lost Ark implemented years ago an option that allows the players to turn off the skill visuals of our players.
I am not sure if you can tell (because of the degraded quality), but those are some braided dreadlocks over there, made with x-gen.
