I've just published my first blog post about intimacy directing for amateur theatres in the UK. I go through some of the limitations and challenges, as well as some of my solutions.

his year I've taken my intimacy directing and educating to new heights. So, I'll take a pause to acknowledge the things I've accomplished before going full steam ahead into 2025.
There are already some really exciting things coming up in the new year! (Helsinki are you ready??)
Last weekend I had the joy of working with the members of Stockport @GarrickTweet.
We talked consent onstage and in the rehearsal room, and discussed how to encourage consensual artistic collaboration.
If your organisation could benefit from this kind of workshop, drop me a DM!
After every intimacy for theatre workshop I give, I offer attendees the chance to give anonymous feedback.
When I received this, I felt especially touched💜
You can find more about what I do, including intimacy rehearsals and workshops on my website: https://t.co/3wLkGWzn2n
Having had an initial readthrough of my new script in progress with precious, trusted actors, I'm now actually *implementing* the changes. Look at me, prioritising the right kind of work.

This week I completed an intensive #stagecombat course and very happily I passed all three exams in standard unarmed, knife and rapier & dagger, with merits across the board!
To say that my body was screaming by the end of the week would be an understatement...(it still is)
I saw Dorian: The Musical last night as @swkplay and really enjoyed it! A really atmospheric, moody production. Gave me 'Only Lovers Left Alive' vibes. And shoutout to the costume and lighting designers - every moment was a visual feast! And I absolutely covet Dorian's wardrobe.
This month I ran a short course focusing on giving consent forward tools to amateur, semi-pro and regional theatre organisations.
All 9 attendees were brilliant - sharing ideas is a big part of what makes this course such a joy to teach.
Big thanks to my host @QuestorsTheatre.
Session 1 of my Intimacy In Theatre course at @QuestorsTheatre was gorgeous. Everyone was so engaged, contributed so generously and I'm really looking forward to next week and what discourse it will spark. #intimacydirecting#consent
People, Place & Things at @TrafTheatre. The audience were absolutely alive to this play. You felt like you were holding on for dear life, in the most impressive way.
I'm teaching at @QuestorsTheatre: 13 & 20 July
Starting with the basics of consent-forward work in theatre, then deep diving into its various elements.
You'll leave with a tool belt of approaches to tell stories of intimacy is a safe and creative way.
