“There really won't be anything that AI can’t do better than humans, apart from being human, perhaps,” says @elonmusk.
He tells @zannymb that artificial intelligence may exceed the sum of human intelligence in about five years.

🚨 Elon Musk just NUKED this reporter to her face in a MASTERCLASS
"People loathe you!"
ELON: "I don't care. The fact that a quarter billion people follow me means a lot more people like me than don't."
"I think a lot more people hate YOU and the MEDIA than you realize!"

Elon Musk: “Optimus Will Be The Biggest Product Ever Created”
Let's see Optimus. You know, as you've heard me say before, I think Optimus will be the biggest product ever. But it is a very complex problem to solve. It's one of the hardest things to solve.
To make a humanoid robot that can do tasks that you simply ask it to do, or show it a video, and it can do the task without any programming — like, no one's ever achieved this.
And there are many challenges in the electromechanical design of the robot, to achieve sufficient dexterity and reliable hands, to be very reliable and have long, long wear and tear.
But, I mean, it's good to be out in the field and not break down. Otherwise, you get this 70-kilogram robot that just flopped over, and you could carry it around like a baby, you know.
And we don't want Optimus to go haywire.
So, it's a lot of work to scale, to get the design right, and to scale production.
And I really want to emphasize here that the production scaling challenge is very, very substantial.
So this is going to be the hardest product to scale manufacturing that we've ever made at Tesla, because everything on the robot is new.
And the difficulty of scaling the production up is proportionate to the newness of the parts in the robot.
Now targeting Friday, July 24 for Starship’s thirteenth flight test, due to weather.
A key objective for the flight test is to get clear imagery from the ground of Starship’s heatshield as it flies at a higher dynamic pressure during ascent, which won't be possible with today's weather conditions. Visibility is forecast to be ideal for a Friday attempt.
NEWS: Elon Musk rejects the far right label in an exchange with The Economist
"I support the normal people. What you call the far right, falsely."
He challenged the interviewer to say what is extreme about 3 positions.
"Here are the principles and tell me which of these sound terrible. That we should have secure borders, that we should have safe cities, that we should have sensible spending. Which of those three are far right fringe?"
Elon then turned on the framing itself.
"I would like to just admonish you and the media for the absurd characterization of the far right. It is false and misleading and nonsense."
He asked that the exchange survive the edit. "Please keep this part in."
Elon said the same speeches get judged by who delivered them, describing a habit of reading Obama and Clinton speeches to people and telling them Trump said it. He named Rupert Lowe as an example of who he means by normal people.

BREAKING:
French judges announce they’re adding the aggravating circumstance of “anti-White racism” against 14 young North Africans accused of murdering 16-year-old Thomas Perotto in Crépol in 2023.
During a village winter ball in the small village of Crépol, a large group of teenagers from a migrant neighborhood of the nearby town of Romans-sur-Isère) burst into the event toward the end of the night.
They attacked partygoers with knives while shouting anti-white racist insults such as “We’re here to stab whites.”
16-year-old Thomas Perotto, a local high school student and rugby player, was fatally stabbed (multiple wounds to the heart and throat).
Two other young local men (23 and 28) were seriously injured.
14 people are charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated violence in an organized group.
The decision to add anti-white racism as an aggravating circumstance was based on around ten witness statements describing explicitly anti-white racist motivations and insults during the attack.
This upgrade means that if convicted, the penalties could be significantly heavier.
The trial is expected to take place next year.
Optimus update:
• Model S/X lines at Fremont fully decommissioned
• First-generation Optimus production lines now being installed
• Initial robots will go straight into the Optimus Academy for training data
• Texas site construction is in full swing
Humanoid production is no longer “coming.” It’s being built right now.
Elon Musk on humanoid robots:
Most impressive demos online are pre-programmed or remotely controlled. No current humanoid can handle generalized tasks.
Optimus will be the first to do so — not just for show, but genuinely useful in daily life. It’s designed with human-level (or better) hand dexterity and the ability to understand its environment, learn new tasks, and perform real work in homes and factories.
That’s the goal.
