@CoachAdragna Second half run game was pretty good. But that is all they did.
On third and short they always went simple up the middle and it failed every time. I was completely predictable.
Bad play calling game.
@barob05@ferrismattic I find it fascinating that Luke 14 and 15 are all about meals and why we should eat them according to the Jesus Supper Tradition. Each chapter ends with a parable mostly or partly about people not wanting to eat meals.
Very relevant to 1 Cor 11 and today.
@barob05@ferrismattic Should we obey the command or nullify it because of human traditions?
Should we ask if it says something about our human traditions and, if not, nullify it?
Should we let the Holy Spirit ask us questions about it?
@barob05@ferrismattic LOL. Incredible.
1 Cor 11:33 is a direct command!
11:21 - Paul is ANGRY, LIVID that people are going hungry IN CHURCH.
"Paul doesn't offer his thoughts"?
See the problem; see the solution.
You two are mostly asking anachronistic questions from a 4th C. paradigm.
@ferrismattic I find it easy to get pretty good summaries about "what did Augustine say about..."
If you want a reliable direct quote you have to go to a reliable source and get it yourself.
@ferrismattic@barob05 OK, I think you are ignoring numerous textual signals that undermine your reading. "After supper he took the cup . . ." When?
"The supper does not matter when you eat the supper" does not track with the entire NT.
You still won't explain what the COMMAND in 11:33 means for us.
@barob05@ferrismattic I try to follow the hermeneutics commanded by the NT.
Look at all the commands to: imitate, follow the example, keep the tradition, etc. We are called to imitate God, Jesus, Paul, the Apostles.
I think every descriptive passage is normative unless there is a reason it's not.
