sungmin: who did you think would come on the show?
jl: you!
sungmin: really?
jl: yeah, i couldn't think of anyone *besides you*
sungmin: this is flirting
jl: ㅋㅋㅋ noo
sungmin: you are really good
LOLOL I LOVE THEMMMM 😭😭😭
I really don’t want to say anything, pero if you’re going to comment on his performance today, please know how to give constructive criticism, and make sure it’s based on what actually happened, hindi gawa-gawa.
If you want to uplift your bias, that’s completely okay, but please do it without putting down my bias. Honestly, I didn’t see anything wrong with his performance today.
You want an example of constructive criticism?
I’ll give you one:
Please avoid overhyping to the point that it’s almost shouting. Oh no, wrong. Not almost. It was really shouting. And doing it while some members were singing? It was literally cutting them off.
You can hype your bias without disrespecting the performance of the other members. Support your favorite, but please know the difference between uplifting someone and putting someone else down.
Kung gusto mong purihin yung bias mo, purihin mo. Bakit kailangan mong idown yung bias ko? At low energy? Si JL? Ok lang? He will never do that on stage kahit masama pa pakiramdam niya dahil professional na yan bago pa naging kpop idol. Kahit may masakit sa katawan niya titiisin niya just to go all out! Pinag-iinit mo ulo ko te. Wag mong simulan lalo na katatapos lang ng KWDA kagabi. 👊
JL’s voice is soaring once again, now in Japan! 🇯🇵✨ He always knows how to take us higher, making every tune feel like we’re floating lighter. 🪽🎶

For JL, and for everyone who fought alongside us.
We honestly do not know where to begin. We have been trying to find the right words for this, but nothing seems enough for what we are feeling right now. We wish we were writing this to celebrate JL’s win. We wish we were talking about his trophy, his speech, and the moment we had all been waiting for. We wish we could finally say, “We did it.” Instead, we are here trying to accept that the ending we had hoped and prayed for did not happen.
To everyone who trusted us with this fight, we are sorry. We know how much you gave to this project and how badly you wanted to see JL win. We know there were sacrifices made, time given, money spent, and so many hours poured into this campaign. We wish we could have given all of you the moment we had been working toward. We wish we could have brought the trophy home and celebrated together. But despite everything we did, we still fell short, and we are truly sorry that we could not give you the ending we all wanted.
And to JL, we are especially sorry. We wanted so badly to see you become the 2026 KWDA Male Solo Popularity Award winner. We wanted to see your name announced, watch you receive your trophy, and finally hear the speech we had imagined so many times. That was the picture we carried with us throughout this entire fight. Knowing that we were so close makes it even harder to let go of that picture now.
The gap was small enough to make us believe until the very last moment. We kept thinking that one more vote might be the one that changes everything, that another push might finally close the distance. We held on to that hope all the way to the end. When the final result came, there was nothing left to do but accept it.
And honestly, that moment hurt. It still does.
But what we do not want to lose in all of this is everything that happened along the way. Every vote, every donation, every campaign, every post and repost, every reminder, and every person who stayed up late just to help JL get closer to that win meant something. Every “Vote for JL,” “Let’s do this for JL,” and “One more vote” came from someone who cared enough to do something for him. That is something we will never take for granted.
To everyone who supported the project in any way, thank you. Whether you gave one vote or thousands, donated what you could, spent hours campaigning, shared our posts, encouraged other fans, or simply stayed until the very end, you became part of this journey. We know that everyone had different circumstances, yet so many of you still chose to show up for JL.
Please do not look back and think that you should have done more. You gave what you could, and we are grateful for every bit of it.
JL, we hope that when you look at this result, you will not only see the place you finished. We hope you see the people behind your name. People who believed in you enough to spend their time and resources just to give you a chance at this. People who stayed even when the numbers were difficult. People who kept believing because they wanted this moment for you as much as we did.
You may not be taking the trophy home this time, but you were never standing there alone.
Yes, the result is 2nd place, and we will not pretend that it does not hurt. We wanted first. We wanted that trophy. We wanted to celebrate that win with you.
But this result does not erase the love that brought us here, and it does not define what you mean to the people who support you. An award can give us a ranking, but it cannot measure the people who stood behind you or the impact you have had on them.
For now, we will allow ourselves to be disappointed. We will let ourselves grieve the moment we wanted so badly. We do not have to pretend that it is not painful just because we are grateful for everything else. We can be thankful for the journey and still wish the ending had been different.
And when this no longer hurts quite as much, we hope what we remember most is not the trophy we did not get, but the people who showed up. The people who believed. The people who gave what they could. The people who stayed until the very last second because they wanted to fight for JL.
Thank you for trusting us with this fight. Thank you for every vote, every donation, every campaign, every share, every message, and every sacrifice.
We are sorry we could not bring home the win, but we will never be sorry that we fought for it.
Second place is the result, but it is not the story of this journey. The story is that so many people came together for JL and gave him everything they could.
And JL, if you ever wonder whether all of this was worth it, we hope you know the answer.
You were.
You are.
And you always will be.
With all our hearts,
JL Voting Project Team

💌 A LETTER TO JL’S FANDOM ⚓️🤍
To everyone who fought for JL,
We did it. 2nd place. 🥹🤍
From the first vote until the very last, you showed what dedication looks like. You stayed up, collected, purchased, voted, encouraged one another, and kept pushing even when the gap felt impossible.
Thank you for every late night, every sacrifice, every peso spent, every vote cast, and every moment you chose to keep going.
Most importantly, thank you for believing in JL.
Even though we were not able to secure the award for JL this time, it’s okay to feel disappointed. We wanted this for him, and after everything we poured into this journey, it’s only natural for the result to hurt. But when that disappointment settles, we hope we can also look back with pride at everything we were able to accomplish together.
The award may not have gone to JL this time, but the effort, dedication, and love we poured into getting him to 2nd place are something no result can take away from us.
This achievement belongs to every person who contributed, whether your support was big or small. Every vote became part of the final number, and every effort helped carry JL to that 2nd place finish.
We know how much you gave during this voting period, and we hope you take a moment to be proud of yourselves too.
You showed up for him. You fought for him. You never stopped believing in him.
From Stejay Harbor, thank you for giving JL your all.
Congratulations, JL’s fandom. You gave him everything you could, and that will always be worth celebrating. 🤍⚓️
Twice na natalo kaya alam ko once maipanalo natin si jl someday, doble din ang saya. Pero sa ngayon, let’s allow ourselves to be sad, and process our emotions. Someday talaga, I know, makukuha din natin to! ✨
This is what he said after he saw some insensitive comments about his weight 💔😭 my heart hurts so bad for him😭 he is so strong enough to say these things despite those awful things he saw online...I love how he stand for himself this time👏🫶
