Thrilled to share that Agri-Shield Innovators emerged as 3rd out of 14 ventures in this innovation challenge.

Our venture tackles Fall Armyworm (FAW), a major threat to food security. Be reminded, we need youth-led solutions to our most pressing challenges.

In collaboration with the @MCFMakerere, we successfully hosted the Scholars Entrepreneurship Fund 2 Pitch Day.

14 teams took to the stage to pitch innovative solutions addressing challenges within their communities.

Congratulations to the top 3 standout teams:
Agri Shield – Developing a biopesticide solution to combat Fall Armyworm, one of the biggest threats to maize production.

InnoHarvest – Creating a biochemical solution that extends crop shelf life by reducing microbial growth, moisture loss, and post-harvest spoilage.

Pure Star – Addressing the shortage and high cost of quality school chalk for educational institutions across South Sudan.

While these teams emerged as the top performers, every participating team demonstrated remarkable innovation and potential. To support their continued growth, all 14 teams will receive seed funding of USD 500 to further develop their solutions.

Over the next two months, MIIC will continue to provide tailored coaching, mentorship, and technical support to help the teams further refine their ideas and develop functional prototypes.
