@clhubes I will say it gets tremendously easier when the baby sleeps reliably. Mine are 6 and 3 and it's just been the last ~6 months that I've felt a little less drowned and a little more in control of my time. It's hard as hell, you're doing great!
Unless you were also up at 4 am with a 3-year-old calling you "Stupid Mommy" for failing to keep the motion sensors light on while she ate a strawberry Popsicle, I really don't want to talk to you today.
@polesasunder I like the tidytuesday project feederwatch data. I give it to my students late in the term and have them fly with it independently, but you could do a lot with it earlier in a course, too.
@AudreyComstock7@Momademia It's so hard! I had the best luck when I stayed off my phone during the feedings etc. Something about the light of the screen really kept my brain on high gear when I tried to sleep again. It does get easier, you will sleep again someday!
@emilykmay What I'm most offended by is this guy, who is seemingly unrelated to this woman, using her picture, life, and content to push his own agenda without even crediting her. That's shitty.
@DigiNaturalist I can relate 1000% and I admit I never thought of having cake to celebrate! Definitely making that a thing from now on. It's a rough deal, keep being a badass!!
This is the dumpster outside of a dorm, the garbage truck is right around the corner. All this stuff is usable condition. What are we doing?!
Anybody's schools have good examples of swaps or donation systems for students moving out of the dorms?
@DrAlysonHanish @Momademia I also suggest cutting parenting junk: first to go is mom guilt! Then anything that doesn't directly serve you or your children--they don't need piano lessons or soccer club if it's not actually feeding their souls!
