@OutdoorClassDay Honestly my favorite memory of mud from growing up was when my mom would let us have a mud fight in the sandbox we would put on bathing suits and googles, drag a hose down to the sandbox and mix up soil water and to make mud and just start flinging it at each other 😊

If you study science you’re a scientist. Degrees say you have training satisfactory to a school.

Also only calling people with degrees scientists wrongly invalidates traditional (ecological) knowledge holders & the knowledge itself

@BorealBones @chelseaherps @Afro_Herper It's like planting something to increase the biodiversity of a habitat but not restoring the environment around it first. Is it really that surprising that the plant struggles? We need to do better so wonderful people like Earyn and Chelsea can thrive and stay in our field ❤

@BorealBones @chelseaherps @Afro_Herper Well if the communities are toxic it makes it hard for different people to want to be there let alone be able to succeed... that's why it is so important to work on improving our work environments not just trying to recruit more BIPOC. This goes for women and LGBTQIA+ too.

6) Wangari Maathai although she has passed away the Green Belt Movement is still going strong in Africa and and continues to be a guide for holistic approaches to conservation and community development. Plus she has 6 great books you can read!
