ETHIOPIA — The Afar National Unity Revolutionary Front (ANURF), widely known as #Uguugumo, announced the graduation of its 5th batch of military trainees.
The group is engaged in an armed insurgency against the ruling "Prosperity Party" government led by the increasingly unpopular Abiy Ahmed.
According to the group, the latest graduation reflects its continued efforts to expand its ranks and strengthen its operational presence across Ethiopia's Afar Region.

THE HORIZON HAS MOVED
When the Mountain Is Behind You, The Sky Becomes Your Limit.
A Cinematic Essay by Abraham Gebremichael
"The greatest challenge is not reaching the summit. It is deciding where to go after you arrive."
Imagine the opening.
Darkness.
The sound of wind.
A mountain silhouette.
Then sunrise.
A single voice.
For generations...
our eyes were fixed on one mountain.
Every step was measured against it.
Every sacrifice was made because of it.
Every dream climbed toward it.
One day...
we reached the summit.
We looked back...
and realized something unexpected.
The mountain had never been the destination.
It was only the beginning.
Because beyond every mountain...
there is another horizon.
Freedom gave us the right to dream.
Now wisdom must teach us what to dream about.
The question is no longer,
"Can we overcome?"
The question is,
"What can we become?"
Can we become a nation known for its schools?
For its scientists?
For its artists?
For its entrepreneurs?
For its honesty?
For its compassion?
For the dignity with which it treats every human being?
Because the world remembers victories.
But it admires civilizations.
Every generation receives a horizon.
Some spend their lives staring at it.
Others...
walk toward it.
Every classroom expands the horizon.
Every invention moves it farther.
Every bridge reaches beyond it.
Every act of integrity lifts it higher.
A horizon has an extraordinary quality.
The closer you come to it...
the farther it invites you to go.
That is not failure.
That is progress.
Nations that stop dreaming...
stop growing.
Nations that continue learning...
never truly stop rising.
One day...
our grandchildren may not remember every challenge we faced.
But they will inherit the direction we chose.
May they say:
"They looked beyond survival."
"They chose excellence."
"They believed tomorrow could be greater than today."
The mountain taught us endurance.
The horizon teaches us possibility.
History gave us a beginning.
The future offers no finish line.
Glory to our martyrs.
Strength to our people.
One Nation. One People. One Horizon.

SUDAN — ⚡️Another UAE-supplied strategic FH-95 drone operated by the genocidal RSF militia was shot down today by the Sudanese Armed Forces northwest of El Obeid.
The RSF's drone inventory appears to be shrinking as the Sudanese Armed Forces continue to bring them down one after another.

National School Leaving Examination Results Announced
The results of the National School Leaving Examination for the 2025/2026 academic year were announced yesterday, 12 July.
Dr. Bisirat Gebru, Director of Standards and Evaluation at the National Higher Education and Research Institute, indicated that out of the 21,561 students who took the examination, 4,831, or 22.4%, achieved scores qualifying them for degree and diploma programs.
Indicating that the percentage of female students who sat for the examination was almost equal to that of male participants, Dr. Bisirat called on the students who passed the examination and qualified for college education to work hard to achieve their goals and strictly adhere to college regulations.
Dr. Bisirat also advised students who did not achieve passing marks not to lose hope and urged them to remain engaged in education, study diligently, and prepare for the next national examination.
It is to be recalled that the 2025/2026 National School Leaving Examination was conducted from 16 to 22 March across the country, including at the international schools of Eritrean communities in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Of the examinees, 89.3% were regular students, while 10.7% were repeat candidates.
@MirafTesma The country's ongoing struggle for freedom has reached a point of no return. It has entered the "no turning back, or face doom" phase, making it increasingly clear that Abiy's unchecked rule is living on borrowed time.
These conflicts in Sudan should serve as a reminder to the incompetent Ethiopian leader that an overreliance on drones does not make an army invincible or fundamentally change the realities of war.
