#Eritrea: Independence Day Celebrations on full swing. Street Carnival at Martyrs and Liberation Avenues in Asmara this afternoon showcasing cultural dances and fielding more than 13,000 participants from all administrative sub-zones in the capital.
Photo exhibition and documentary films also featured in festive events organized by Eritrea's Defense Forces (yesterday); and the National Union of Eritrean women (this morning), respectively.
#Eritrea's defining attributes and gold-standard of renowned resilience; unparalleled social cohesion; and rich heritage of walking in lock-step in all conceivable circumstances have, and continue to remain, elements of extreme annoyance and despair to the notorious clique of hired lobbyists and Conflict Entrepreneurs - እፍሊ ሓንጨመንጪ/ጋንታ ገናዞ።
Reason why we see them resort to, and spew, vitriol intermittently; especially during quarterly/periodic paydays.

Rediscovering ERITREA: A UN Resident Coordinator’s Testimony of Partnership, Potential, and Progress
In a world saturated with secondhand narratives, speculation, and geopolitical noise, there is something refreshing, even necessary, about hearing from those who have lived and worked inside a country, shoulder to shoulder with its people. Over the past two years, Nahla Valji, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Eritrea, in an interview with NCEA’s National Public Diplomacy Group’s Eritrean Harmony Quarterly Magazine Vol. 4, Issue 3 Oct.-Dec. 2025 has offered precisely that: a grounded, firsthand account of a nation often spoken about, but rarely understood on its own terms.

If you want to understand what is festering in Abiy’s mind, all you need to do is read the articles in Horn Review. They are written by inexperienced individuals still learning how to string convoluted sentences together, all seemingly guided by Abiy’s Press Secretary, Billene Seyoum. Their latest piece, released yesterday, essentially argues that if war breaks out, the blame should be placed on #Asmara and not in Abiy.
It is obvious that the PP is in self-inflicted chaos and has completely lost control of governance. Abiy has taken on far more than he can manage, and each day #Ethiopia appears to be sliding deeper into a downward spiral. His actions reflect someone responding impulsively and out of self-preservation.
The central message of the article is that a war may be looming in the Horn of #Africa and that #Eritrea’s supposed fixation on conflict is the cause. But the article introduces a twist: it now claims the potential war is not about #Ethiopia’s desire for #Assab, but rather about Eritrea’s alleged addiction to war.
It is also clear that Abiy has zero international support for his attempt to seize sea access. Senator Marco Rubio’s comments this week, the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ statement today regarding the Algiers Agreement, and every country that has spoken on Abiy’s expansionist ambitions have issued sharp warnings telling him to stop.
The article then pushes several revisionist narratives, claiming that the TPLF had no mandate to grant Eritrea a referendum. It becomes even more bizarre, describing the EPLF’s liberation struggle as a civil war and calling its actions in the 1998–2000 conflict “one of the most consequential strategic errors in the Horn of Africa’s modern history.”
They also allege that the PFDJ has spent decades trying not only to eliminate the TPLF from Ethiopia’s political landscape but also to insert EPLF/PFDJ influence back into Ethiopia’s political center. The irony is that Abiy himself has told many people that he passed intelligence to help remove the TPLF so he could come to power.
Abiy is clearly unsettled by the ongoing people-to-people peace initiative between Eritrea and Tigray, known as Tsimdo. The article clumsily tries to revive old hostilities by insisting that EPLF and TPLF still hate each other and cannot trust one another again.
Finally, the article ends with the claim, “Ports do not ignite wars. Political obsessions do.” And there it is. They know the world will not tolerate Abiy’s attempt to launch a war to retake Assab, so they are trying to reframe the motive. According to them, if a war starts, it will be because Eritrea is trying to undermine Ethiopia’s political order, revive historical rivalries, and treat regional stability as expendable.
And without any sense of irony, they conclude with: “The sea is a convenient distraction; the enduring story is far more political, far more personal, and far more consequential.”
Abiy finds himself between a rock and a hard place, increasingly forced to backpedal. He has been rebuffed by all neighboring countries, shunned by multilateral organizations, and isolated by the international community. Within Ethiopia, populations in Tigray, Amhara, and Oromia have taken up arms against the Prosperity Party. Sudan is visibly angered, Eritrea is prepared for any eventuality, and Egypt is watching closely. All self inflicted.

The writing on the wall is crystal clear. The Potemkin Party must be at the end of its tether !
How else can one explain PP Leader's outburst, in his speech this week and to the chagrin and embarrassment of his audience, that the PP will "eliminate Ethiopia's enemies one by one, like removing head lice".
This is utterly repugnant and cannot be shrugged off as an unfortunate misstep; even by factoring in his penchant for plagiarism which at times are invoked in incongruent circumstances. But then, this is the real substance of the Potemkin Party!
President Isaias Afwerki and his delegation were accorded warm welcome on their arrival at Riyadh Airport/Royal Terminal in late morning hours today.
President Isaias and his delegation will meet Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman as well as other senior officials during their stay in the KSA.
The symptoms of desperation and war psychosis, bordering on insanity, within the tight circle of Potemkin Party mouthpieces (Horn Review et al), zealots and trolls seems to have dipped to a new low these days.
Revisionist history recycled ad nauseum; banal postulates on the robust legal basis and dynamics of Eritrea's independence; and wholesale defamatory assault on its developmental principles and trajectory have not produced any PR dividends for the Potemkin Party in its toxic agenda of regional destabilization cloaked under the mantle of "sovereign access to the sea".
In this vein, the despicable campaign they are peddling these days is to scoff at, and desecrate, some of Eritrea's heroes who passed away at respectable ages after accomplishing the highest missions in their lives.
In the feeble and perverted minds of PP zealots, these natural events are misconstrued as "some opportunity"; oblivious as they are to the patriotic fervor of the Warsai Generation who has long inherited the legacy/torch of liberation and proven its mettle in protecting and safeguarding Eritrea's inviolable sovereignty and territorial integrity. ኣብ ነዊሕ መደረ ከይኣቶና፥ "ነዳይ ናይ ልቡ ይሓልም" እዩ እቲ ነገሩ!

China’s Special Envoy was in Asmara today: this wasn’t just an exchange of greetings, but substantive talks on mediation in the Horn and self-reliant African growth.
After decades on the sidelines, Eritrea’s Red Sea harbors have suddenly become the table every power wants a seat at. Will we see a Chinese-funded project at Massawa or Assab? Will a high-level U.S. delegation arrive in Asmara, or will President Isaias visit the White House to discuss regional stability and trade?
The rejected stone has become the new cornerstone. Who’s watching now? #RedSea #ChinaAfrica #HornOfAfrica #Eritrea #Sudan #Egypt #saudiarabia
