@TravelSYorks Heads up - barnsley road blocked in both directions due to police incident. All services on diversion! (We had to reverse back down the hill to the hospital ๐คฆโโ๏ธ)
Holly has done lots of dancing today at a competition and placed 4th with her tap solo and 2nd with her team dance! Well done Holly!!!! @Ballifieldpri@ForgeSSP#HalfTermHealthySelfie
Officially ready for my last ever shift as a student. Everything is signed off. Everything is passed. The next time I work in a hospital it will be as a qualified nurse! And what a journey it has been!

@NurseStandard We need to do something about work/life balance. This year, I've been doing 40 hours on placement a week, travelling 18 hours a week to get to placement while doing 4 assignments. I have young kids who are afraid for me to start working as they never see me. I'm burnt out already
@NurseStandard And I'm not alone. My cohort are drastically short on hours, have no placement options and are told to work 48 hours a week to qualify on time in September.
@PUNC18_Lee@NurseStandard Hold up - 18k?! Where from?! I'm a 3rd yr getting 15k and that all goes on nursery fees because of the unpredictability of placement shifts. I've still a mortgage to pay, other household bills, food and clothes and then ยฃ105 a month on a bus pass to get to placement.
In the process of making thank you gifts for my placement who have given me the best placement experience in 3 years! Will they be appreciated? I hope so! #nurses#stn#3rdyrstn#adultnurse#placement#finalyear
Carly has been using her allotment to feed people struggling with the cost of living. Last night someone broke in and salted the land to stop her growing.
Her go fund me: https://t.co/mn2vIkYSPP
@StagecoachYrks is there any reason why the 07.46 218 from rotherham interchange has been missing 2 mornings running? District nurse who can't get to work on time cuz it's missing again. No warning that its missing. Just doesn't show up.
@louise8346@NurseStandard Also a third year here. There's nothing here to encourage me to stay in the NHS. These strikes were about retention but students are already on the verge of burnout with no incentive to stay. I can earn the same wage in fast food restaurants with less responsibility!
Today has been so informative! Practical day doing assessment on deteriorating patient before and during cardiac arrest. Turns out I'm decent at leading but need to brush up on my knowledge of reversible causes!

@TheAutisticRN@WeNurses@WeStudentNurse @StNurseProject @RCNStudents@150Leaders Please take the time, just 5 minutes, to mark off the proficiencies that they have achieved that shift. It's hard chasing for evidence and signatures just to finish a placement and find that despite the evidence, nothing has been checked off.
@WeStudentNurse So much in the works at the moment! 3rd year so planning a dissertation around vaccination, a 4000 word assignment around medication adherence, a leadership assignment and a screencast around interprofessional working. Today though - leadership seminars. ๐๐๐
