@yrfatfriend I'll just say that I've recently gotten into maintenance phase and it's SO good. I've learned so much from you and Mike. And I finally realised you are 'the lady with the viral tweets about being fat and using a plane' which was super informative.
@gretageoghegan You can do this! Plus, as an adult you can buy your own sticker. Maybe you can buy yourself something really nice as a reward once you have been?
Need a new logo? We can help!
We made this logo for the Clean Tech Network, a group looking to help more businesses work in a sustainable way. This logo is one of two businesses, linked closely to the Clean Tech Business Group. Make sure to check out bโฆ https://t.co/Y76OkSXJ4r
My very first ecommerce site went live on monday: https://t.co/zxpyhZ9WWi
Big pro of making ecommerce: you can order from them! Today I have an order of donuts and cupcakes arriving at our doorstep to celebrate. CAN'T WAIT!
Working with @squarespace for the first time to make updates for a client who build her website in it. I'm SHOCKED. The only 'default' cookie popup banner the @squarespace allows is.... not GDPR compliant. No option to accept or reject cookies. This is so disappointing.
Which then puts users into the position of having a compliant site that doesn't tell them what their users are doing, because they are unable to track how many clicks or interactions any areas of the sites are getting. Making it hard to optimise their site in any way.
My beloved Wordpress may not provide a banner by default, but it allows users to install any plugin that can resolve this quite easily. Squarespace, in contrast, doesn't even allow users to customise their banner to make it compliant. The only solution is to...not use cookies.
A website that isn't GDPR compliant can get fined, there must be thousands and thousands of customers using this platform and @squarespace, a 'trusted' platform is apparently fine putting them at risk by proposing a default solution that doesn't mean regulations at all.
Launching a new website is a lot like sitting in a plane taking off... it's very exciting and great, but even though I have done it plenty of times before I am always nervous something may go wrong.
Two site launches this week, I'm excited!
For any website designer who needs to hear this: you need to ask for permissions but you don't need to cover an entire screen to do it on mobile. 'Agree' 'Reject' 'more info' in a banner at the BOTTOM makes people happy.
@pinkandpeach20 I like the first one (yelllow and white in top left corner) it's a nice balance of colours and puts the focus on the cards and the text
