I did learn that you can Convert the Art to a Shape, which makes the image tabbable, at least. It still *asks* for alt text, but I was able to tab through using NVDA. Granted, I'm still very much a newb, but getting it figured out :)

I'm sitting here blown away that after I spend time making SmartArt in Microsoft PowerPoint that I still have to fill in alt text because it's not otherwise viewable by a screen reader. Am I missing something??

I'm getting really frustrated with Microsoft PowerPoint because almost of the SmartArt styles fail WCAG 2.1 guidelines for color contrast. Is there a way to change the font color that I am just overlookking?
