‘Thinking my singleness is ever a man’s decision is where you fucked up’ is such a real ass statement because do men really think it’s entirely up to them ??
james baldwin was so right when he said you think you’re alone and then you pick up a book and realise someone else has felt the same way as you and managed to find a language for it. the realest shit
“I think censorship is fine as long as its only used to get rid of the stuff I don’t like”
may I suggest you read this foundational work of political theory
my 2 weeks of patriotism are about to be over and i won’t be touching the “🦅🇺🇸” emojis or feeling an ounce of patriotism again until summer 2028 thank you for a lovely time team usa but it’s now back to fuck this country <3
If i had a nickel for every time I've had a personal connection & conversation with the singer of the Super Bowl national anthem I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it's happened twice (back to back years).
Having a job and living alone is such a crazy combo. You go home, shower, eat, scroll through your phone, and stay silent until you talk to someone at work the next day.
my favorite ways to talk to a stranger:
- offer to take a photo for them in pretty places
- ask what food they ordered
- comment on how beautiful the weather is
- give them a casual compliment
- ask what they're reading
- ask for directions
- casual smile when you walk by
either it leads to a longer convo or it's just a positive human interaction of the day
