Remember Jack Russell, the England wicketkeeper with the floppy hat, sunglasses and that famous moustache?
Rain delays used to drive him mad. So he started sketching in the pavilion.
Those sketches turned into a full-time career. He now runs his own gallery in Chipping Sodbury and has painted everyone from Prince Philip to Eric Clapton.
He’s been a professional artist longer than he was a Test cricketer and says he earns more from the canvas than he ever did from keeping.
From catching edges to catching light. ❤️
@jackrussellart Yes all good thanks, on a week away with my sister and cousin at the moment staying at Waren Mill overlooking Budle Bay just round corner from Bamburgh.
Thats nice haven't seen them this year as I haven't managed to get to any cricket this season with work etc.
