Word of advice: if you see someone doing something on here that appears to be completely out of character, at least ask that person or give them the benefit of the doubt. Don't assume, get ahead of yourself and start slating said person because it suits your narrative and you...
This is about as incorrect as something can be 🧵
There are Three distinct periods for UK manufacturing in the modern era. Let’s began at when Thatcher took office as PM
@jni_1972@FactCheckNI ...looking for work. In NI about 23 000 young people belong to the NEETS category and a large majority of these, about more than two-thirds, are not looking for employment. This is never mentioned.
@jni_1972@FactCheckNI I think that particular figure he quoted doesn't always paint the full picture. Throughout the UK there are many people that belong to a category called (NEETS) and they are often not included in the unemployment figure as they are outright economically inactive and not....
@BaronoftheMaine@MrBruh_II ...important role to play, alongside parties such as Alliance and the SDLP, to bring about changes that move society forward. With the turmoil that is happening in the UUP and with a more hardline stance emerging from within the TUV and DUP, moderate Unionist voices are more....
@BaronoftheMaine@MrBruh_II Not just that, but whilst other States in Europe moved much faster towards civic and democratic societies after the second world war, NI remained stuck in this ethno-nationalist ideology. I think the "hands off" approach by Westminster didn't help, but we are where we are.
@BaronoftheMaine@MrBruh_II Sadly though it is a consequence resulting from the formation of a state/country/geopolitical entity which is based on an ethnic conception of a society, rather than a civic one.
@BaronoftheMaine@MrBruh_II Yes, there was no "voting ban" and whilst class or socio-economic status played a role, the system was nonetheless heavily weighted against one side of the community. It's an uncomfortable truth, but it has to be recognised.
@BaronoftheMaine@MrBruh_II Maybe not banned from Parliamentary elections, but there were definitely restrictions at local level which maintained a one-sided control in combination with the gerrymandering of electoral boundaries. Thankfully those days are long gone.
@CS_UnionistNI@Matthew19Dillon Their aims and objectives say otherwise. Let's see how they behave on Saturday and if they do wave flags and symbols relating to a terrorist organisation, then you can make your assertion of them being "terrorist supporting scum".
@CS_UnionistNI@Matthew19Dillon That may have been the case at a previous protest, but the IPSC, as aN organisation/charity, does not support terrorist groups. Its support is directed towards Palestinian Civilians and not HAMAS, hence most likely why the Parades Commission granted them permission to walk....
This is just another attempt to reanimate the corpse that is "Mutual Enforcement". A majority of people in the UK want closer alignment, not more discussions on something that has already been consigned to the dustbin of history.
Today, I will introduce my Bill in the Lords to remove the Irish Sea border, protect the UK Single Market, and avoid a hard border. As Govt pursues a “reset” with the EU, here’s the way to safeguard the Union and Brexit.

@News_Letter Lagging behind what? De-regulated onshore tax-havens that contribute little to no money into the public coffers and are open to exploitation with regards to profiteering and criminal activity?
@CS_UnionistNI@Matthew19Dillon The main structure of your tweet falls apart when you use "terrorist supporting scum" considering that this is a "Pro Gaza" march. You would have a point if this were a "Pro Hamas" march.
@richardtgarland Wow! Time flies, doesn't it? Seems like yesterday when you announced it. My warmest congratulations to you and the mother on the birth of this beautiful baby. Wishing you plenty of sleep (where possible) and unforgettable quality time with the new arrival. Great news!
