Story of the Lady Behind the Loom

The lady seated behind the loom (video 1) is a single parent of a boy & a girl in class 4 & 5. "The Wings of Hope Charitable Trust" has been supporting their education for 20 months now, as part of the Project – "Lights for the Child" (58 children's education support).

Her husband became a victim of Manipur Violence on 13 June 2023 at the Khamenlok Clash.

Her source of income has been the meagre earnings by assisting her relatives selling second hand clothes.
Today she is a proud owner of a Mechanised Loom to weave her Dream.

"The Wings of Hope Charitable Trust was established by retd. Lt Col L Manongba to rebuild lives and restore hope for those devastated by Manipur Violence. He is joined by ex-soldiers, bankers, teachers and other professionals. The trust has received recognition for its humanitarian work, including the "Special category award in service to humanity & society" at the Radiant Wellness Conclave in August 2025.

While NGOs like Wings of Hope are doing their part to rebuild lives by providing education and livelihood support, it’s equally important that the Government steps in with sustainable livelihood schemes for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). They don’t need sympathy, they need opportunities to earn and rebuild their lives with dignity.

Zomi civilians are seen defying the shutdown called by UKNA-sympathising Kukis.
Also, why would any sane people call a shutdown over the death of militants?

It is worth noting that
-UKNA ambushed a convoy of petrol, diesel and gas-tankers near Keimei/Kaimai village in Tamenglong district (on NH-37), causing damage and injuring two drivers.
N many more involvement in attacking Meitei villages.
