Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien addressed students at the Boston University School of Law Thursday evening.
O’Brien discussed the national UPS contract, challenges facing the Teamsters and the American labor movement, and his personal journey growing up in Boston. The talk was hosted by the university’s Employment and Labor Student Association and the American Constitution Society.
“When you look around the country today, you are seeing more young people who are organizing and joining unions,” O’Brien said. “You are seeing it in tech, retail, food service, and even on college campuses like this one. That’s why it’s important to have dialogue like this and encourage younger generations to learn more about how unions improve lives.”
