The Reggae Boyz won their first match in the FIFA World Cup Playoff against New Caledonia at the Akron Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico on 26 March. Ambassador Julia Hyatt was there to support the team & met several officials of the JFF, FIFA & Jamaican diaspora.

Ambassador Julia Hyatt is attending the Heads of Mission Meeting in Kingston, 9–13 February, where Jamaica's 18 Heads of Mission are meeting with the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister and others on foreign policy and its role in Jamaica’s economic independence and development.
Following the Mexico-Jamaica Friendship Group installation ceremony, the Embassy team was invited to observe a session of the Chamber presided by the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Mrs. Kenia López Rabadán.
The installation of the Mexico–Jamaica Friendship Group was held on 28 October, within the framework of the 66th Legislature of the Chamber of Deputies at the Palacio Legislativo where the Constitutive Act was signed by Ambassador Julia Hyatt and Deputy Claudia García Hernández.

Category 5 Hurricane Melissa made landfall in the south west of Jamaica on Tuesday, 28th October 2025 at 12noon. It is expected to traverse the island northwards impacting the entire country.

On 29th September, Amb. Hyatt met with Mr. Pablo Moreno Cadena, President of ANFAD and representatives of MABE Mexico, a strong consumer brand in Jamaica for over 10 years, to discuss collaboration between 🇯🇲 & 🇲🇽 in advancing standards in the appliance industry.
Ambassador Hyatt was present at the reopening of the Jamaican owned restaurant, Te Amo Jamaica, at its new location - Roma Norte in Mexico City on 21st September. The Jamaican restauranteurs, Amoy and Ryan, were gracious and generous in hosting the event.
