The Temptation story is one of the most famous in all the Bible. Jesus is lead into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil. Three tests. Jesus passes them all and begins His ministry.

What you've never been told before is that the tester is Yhwh. None of the three tests work unless Yhwh is the one administering the tests. They all concern him directly.

The three tests are the same tests Yhwh gives to the Hebrews he just marched out of Egypt. Each test is an attempt to get Jesus to break Yhwh's Law. Each reply is Jesus responding to Yhwh's trap by throwing Yhwh's own words back in his face.

The tester is Yhwh. If it's not, none of the tests work - they would have no meaning. They only work if Yhwh is the one testing Jesus.

What did Jesus call the tester? Satan.
What did the gospel author call the tester? The Devil.

The Temptation story ended up in your Bible to tell you who Yhwh is. Christianity tells a different story and calls it context. But it ignores the most essential context of all - the tests only work if Yhwh is the tester.

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, I am sitting at Arkansas Children’s Hospital with my 2-year-old son, Turner, and I can literally see the State Capitol from his hospital window. We will be here until Sunday at the earliest, and possibly longer if things do not go the way we hope. His doctors are telling us that even when Turner is stable enough to leave the hospital, he needs significant support to keep him safe at home. That support is available through Arkansas’s CES Waiver, but Turner cannot access it because he is sitting on the waiting list.

I have tried countless times to set up a meeting with you and have been turned down every time. So this time, I am asking you to come to us. Please come visit Turner and me at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Come see for yourself how sick he is. Let me tell you what it is like to have a 2-year-old with a rare, progressive neurodegenerative disease and severe epilepsy, and what it is like to be told that your child needs more support to safely live at home while also being told that the state support meant for children like him is unavailable because of a waiting list.

Let me tell you what this is doing to our family too. I am missing work right now because my child is hospitalized. I miss work for appointments, hospital stays, seizures, therapies, illnesses, and all of the things that come with raising a medically complex child.
