Sahle-Work Zewde was elected by the Ethiopian parliament. Although the post of president is ceremonial, Sahle-Work is an experienced diplomat. She has promised to work diligently toward gender equality and has pledged to promote peace.

REJOICING! Propane is FINALLY available--after six months of cooking 1000+ meals daily over an open fire (often in the rain)! Thanking God for the perseverance of our EH cooks, and for His provision.

Micro-grants! 14 EHE moms launch business ventures. 
2000 Ethiopian birr ($74) procures equipment and inventory to start selling injera, coffee/tea, fruits/vegetables, household items. Steps toward self-sufficiency and independence from EH—huge boosts in confidence and dignity!

While EH families now live in the Kore' (Korah) slum, most grew up in the rural North.  Instead of a "better" life in the city, they found the challenges of urban slum living:  overcrowding, unemployment and lack of community.  Thank you for making a difference in their lives!
