No nation, no society, and no international order can call itself just and humane if it measures its success solely by power or prosperity while neglecting those who live at the margins. Indeed, Christ’s love for the least and the forgotten compels us to reject every form of selfishness that leaves the poor and the vulnerable invisible.
New Blog Post: When parents say they want "Community"...
Maybe the best thing you can do for your families isn’t planning the next event but introducing the church to one another.

If we shift our focus for discipleship away from programs and refocus on presence, we begin to lay the groundwork for connection that leads to meaningful relationships and ultimately lifelong discipleship.
Programs can't answer the Great Commission - but people can. #kidmin
Every now and then, I feel the need to jump on here and offer us all a little reminder.
Programs are not discipleship.
Programs can be helpful tools to help get people connected to each other.
Programs, when used effectively, can jumpstart people into relationships.
Presence means showing up in each other's lives - cheering at ball games, watching theatre performances, sharing meals around tables and laughter in living rooms, offering rides and providing meals, listening to stories and appreciating lived wisdom.
@LaurenWitzkeDE@BethMooreLPM I appreciate this conversation. I would also point out that many women, including pastors, never supported him or thought he was appointed/annointed.
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
Happy St. Patrick's Day

@JulesDiner@philvischer All I did was offer a quote from President Roosevelt that happened to be the same words as @philvischer and said he was in good company 🤷🏻♀️
@JulesDiner@philvischer Thanks Jules for sharing your interpretation of Roosevelt words. I disagree. I think he and @philvischer would see very much eye-to-eye in this particular conversation. The reality is, no matter what evidence you are given, you will choose to disagree on principle.
Faith often grows through people. Through consistency. And through presence.
Many students stay connected because an adult did not give up on them.
Share this with a volunteer who shows up.
@KPowellFYI Thank you Dr. Powell for speaking truth in spite of those who would pressure you to do otherwise. I know I am not the only one who is grateful.

"Believe it or not, our perfectly planned services and emotionally-poignant worship experiences and our super fun youth groups and our dedicated staff and high-tech curriculum are not what keep people connected to the faith.
It’s relationship. Period. https://t.co/xg7avui6Xj
