PRESS STATEMENT
APC CONDOLES HON. DORIS UBOH-OGUNKOYA, OVER THE PASSING OF HER HUSBAND, MR. ADEBOWALE ABAYOMI OGUNKOYA
The All Progressives Congress (APC) extends its heartfelt condolences to Party chieftain, Hon. (Engr.) Doris Uboh-Ogunkoya, MNSE, on the passing of her beloved husband, Mr. Adebowale Abayomi Ogunkoya.
Hon. (Engr.) Doris Uboh-Ogunkoya, MNSE, the Executive Director of the Rural Electrification Fund of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), was a former Member of the House of Representatives, where she represented the good people of Ika Federal Constituency from 2007 to 2011.
The Party joins her family, friends, and associates in mourning the passing of Mr. Ogunkoya, who lived a life of purpose, humility, generosity, selfless service, and steadfast dedication that touched many within and beyond his family who mourn his transition into glory.
A respected entrepreneur and businessman, Mr. Ogunkoya made significant contributions to Nigeria's power and telecommunications sectors through his company, Deksy Nig. Ltd. A proud graduate of Ogun State Polytechnic, he built a distinguished career marked by vision, innovation, and excellence while contributing enormously to national development and community advancement, particularly in his hometown of Ijebu Ode.
Mr. Ogunkoya was also an active member of the Owo High School Old Students' Association, and served diligently as Secretary of the Class of 1974. Fondly known as "Wale Get Down" and "Oje Master" by classmates, friends, and associates, he was widely admired for his great sense of humour, wisdom, and ability to bring people together. His kind and cheerful spirit has left enduring impression in the hearts and minds of all who were blessed by the privilege of knowing him.
The APC prays that Almighty God grants Hon. (Engr.) Doris Uboh-Ogunkoya, their children, grandchildren, his siblings, friends, and all who mourn, the strength and fortitude to bear this huge loss.
May God grant his soul eternal rest. Amen.

It is increasingly evident that Nigeria’s democracy, and indeed the integrity of the 2027 general elections is in serious jeopardy. Democracy itself is now facing an existential threat. However, I do not want to believe that the judiciary, long regarded as the last hope of the common man, would align with the ruling APC in any effort that could undermine or destroy our democratic foundations. -AA
