@Phoenix9169 From now until the end of the season, I do not want to see or hear any form of Mourinho slander from Benfica fans. Not a single one. He's taken a team he didn't build or add to into the second round of the UCL, beating Napoli & Real Madrid.
Nothing short of a miracle!!!
@OneMotolani@PapaAdaolisa
I've been making the same point, but you don't listen. You'll attribute my insight to anti-Arsenal rhetoric. The guy doesn't show proper decision-making & maturity to attract serious bids. Even with 16 G/A in 33 apps, they see him the exact same way they see Leao.
@PapaAdaolisa@AlNassrTribune Bro, what Neves said was plainly disrespectful. Call a spade a spade. I would feel the same if De Paul said the same about Messi or if Wirtz said the same about Neuer. You don't talk to your country's legend like that. That was exactly why Martinez came out to clear the air.
@OneMotolani@atletiuniverse@JaviGomara@mundodeportivo You’re probably right. But it won’t be a bad idea to have him because his game is fairly adaptable. He can be adapted to the right wing as an inverted attacking right forward. It also depends on the ideas Iraola wants to bring into the team.
@PapaAdaolisa@AlNassrTribune Telling the greatest player in your national team (and YES! I said he is the greatest in Portugal) that he's just another player is downright disrespectful. No one in Germany will do such to Neuer, nor will any Argentine say such about Messi. If they have, show me the proof.
@Phoenix9169 You make a great point. He is also my big cuz, a huge Mourinho supporter. He is optimistic about this project, but I get where you're coming from. That Madrid side needs to be fixed before one can expect trophies, & all our expectations on Jose need to wait after the fix is done.
@espnpodcasts@ESPNFC@PapaAdaolisa
Same thing I’ve been telling you; if you choose him to play in the starting 11, build a system that will help him thrive. Many teams do the same for their top players; Norway - Haaland, Sweden - Isak, Argentina - Messi, Brazil - Vini, England - Kane.
@Twitugal@PapaAdaolisa
Exactly what I suggested. They could have a midfield of Vitinha, Neves, Bruno & Silva. Maybe that could work. Again, the idea is if you choose Ronaldo in the starting 11, build a system that enables him play well.
@OneMotolani Fairly good baller & solid offensive threat. However, he’s a serious defensive liability & given Vini Jnr lack of tracking back, it often leaves the team exposed.
@Phoenix9169 Bayern, Barcelona & Arsenal are ahead of Real Madrid in terms of team building. These teams are 2+ years into their development. In fact, no one knows for sure who Jose actually wants or whether he's getting the ones he asked for. That's why I want to see their setup in the field
@imohumoren@Phoenix9169 The media is already calling this Madrid a super team. They never called them a super team last season & that tag is only due to Mourinho's emergence. We have fair expectations of this Madrid side to win, but none of the media, who've slandered him, gets to dictate his success.
@imohumoren@Phoenix9169 Please reconsider the blocking. We're all on the same side & I get what he's saying. We all want Jose to win trophies. I, for one, am very hopeful of at least the league or Copa Del Rey with this team but the media is the problem here. They won't give Jose any grace to do his job
@imohumoren@Phoenix9169 Madrid already had top players before Mourinho was coach & they were trophyless for 2 seasons; there is a reason for that. Mourinho won't come in & perform magic. We all hope he will win something soon enough but he needs time to sort that team out & when he does, we'll see it.
@TouchmineX@PapaAdaolisa
Again, no one is saying Ronaldo didn't play poorly. However, if you don't feed him in that CF position, you are setting him up to fail. All that supposed press & hold-up game means nothing if you don't give him chances to score, which were too few in the game.
