@SHRStone @ArdeeRdrp They didn’t used to. When I had rats in the 80’s/90’s, they’d live to 4-5 years not 1-2.5

@SHRStone @ArdeeRdrp As long as the c-section babies are kept in a mycoplasma-free environment, you could feasibly create healthy colonies. Sacrificing a few mothers to build healthy rat colonies seems like a sacrifice we’d have to make. It’s not acceptable to continue like this.

After 2.5 years of battling mycoplasma pneumonia, it finally got the better of us and we crossed over the rainbow bridge a couple weeks ago.
