The strike is over, back to "normal" Monday. Mixed feelings. Glad my kids are getting their supports back, sad the staff didn't get anywhere near what they deserved, mad the government treated our kids so poorly. The fight for an inclusive education continues as ever.

For some children, school is their safe place… I can’t imagine how tiring it would be to be a parent to a child with disabilities. For some parents and children school is a breath of fresh air… and they have not been able to attend for 5 days now!!! #houstonyouhaveaproblem

I started as an EPA last January and immediately fell in love. I have one regret though that I didn’t start sooner.The connections with students and other staff have been amazing. There hasn’t been a time that I have felt undervalued and had to really think about what that meant.

Thinking of all of the families this morning as they watch their children watch other children go to school but they cannot. EPAs are so important to kids with differing abilities who often face exclusion and isolation in so many areas.
