sometimes it genuinely feels absurd that this is the reality we’re living in rn.

i mean, we’re fighting for a character (and i’m glad we are, don’t get me wrong) who was developed for years, a character that was promised to players and is part of a long-term game plan.
it’s obvious to anyone who has ever played the game that it was built to be complete and balanced with valko’s presence. he wasn’t something thrown together at the last minute.

and it’s worth remembering that, up until june 30, infold itself repeatedly stated exactly that, even while the controversies surrounding his character were already happening.
i won’t talk about their decision of cancelling him entirely as damage control because we all know it did not benefit anyone that really matters.

but that’s why it’s hard for me to believe that all of this is actually happening. we’re watching an avalanche of misinformation and outright lies built around three seconds of footage taken completely out of context, while entire minutes of content that clearly explained the romantic relationship between valko and the MC are being ignored. same thing with how the game actually works (like bond stories).

if valko doesn’t return, i genuinely won’t be able to keep playing this game.
not because i can’t accept criticism or controversy (if there had been a serious, legitimate issue, that would be a completely different conversation), but what we’re seeing instead is the weaponization of very real and serious issues to push a narrative built on decontextualized information.

honestly, i have no words for what’s happening.

i truly hope infold can handle this situation in the best possible way, because otherwise it sets an incredibly dangerous precedent: the idea that any piece of media can be taken out of context, manipulated, and used as a weapon against a game or a character simply because some people don’t like it.
and that is not normal nor fair.
