It’s #OurArmory!What if WE owned it?🔥
📣 Bronx youth want YOU to pull up to Public Workshop #2 of Together for Kingsbridge on Jan 21st, 12-3pm, PS 340 Annex.
This is a critical moment to share your vision for the Armory and tell @NYCEDC the Bronx wants the keys to the castle.🔑
Although I've worn my hair natural for most of my life, many Black women know very well the societal pressure to straighten and chemically alter our hair. We are bombarded with Eurocentric standards of beauty. We are told our own Afro-textured hair is unprofessional and unkempt.
Although the increases risk was seen among women of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, Black women may be more at risk since they were disproportionately more likely to use hair straighteners.
A new study out yesterday is the first to suggest an association between uterine cancer and chemical hair straighteners. Using hair straighteners *doubled* the risk of developing uterine cancer by the age of 70.

Purchasing a home has always been a major goal of mine and I'm beyond happy that there is a program like @NACA_Official that helps people #AchieveTheDream. Don't fall victim to the loan sharks who prey on minorities and underserved populations!
If you or anyone you know is struggling to make rental, utility or mortgage payments, please fill out an application on our website for assistance.
