It's so awesome to have a daring young PG like Emils Krumins who can go 9-for-12 from the field, while also committing 0 turnovers.
His constant pushing of the pace helped him score 20 points in 25 minutes and record a 22 player efficiency. #Pafleague#LiepajasBasketbols#LBAP

The world needs you, now more than ever, to find your inner Bearslayer.
The Bearslayer (LÄÄplÄsis) is Latviaās national epic, written in the 19th century based on old folk tales.
At the time, Latvians had been living under foreign oppression for some seven centuries, but the National Awakening was underway to celebrate the Latvian language, culture, and traditions - in defiance of their sneering overlords.
The epic poem is set in the 13th century when the arrival of Germanic invaders first put the future of the Latvian nation in doubt. The Bearslayer gets his name because, as a young boy, he protects his father from a bear attack with extraordinary courage and strength.
*Spoiler alert*
The Bearslayer grows up and sets out to confront the invaders - culminating in a battle along the banks of the Daugava river.
Unfortunately, our hero gets injured and is dragged off a cliff into the water where he disappears beneath its surface.
However, the story ends with hope. It explains that the battle is being constantly replayed, echoing through history. Boatmen on the river can sometimes see the Bearslayer falling again.
But, one day, the Bearslayer will win. The oppressors will drown. Latvia will be free. And its golden age will be reborn.
Just a story, huh?
Well, back in the real world, Latvia did declare its independence in 1918 then have to fight a war of independence to secure it.
And, as it happens, the decisive battle did in fact take place along the Daugava river, which a counter attacking German-Russian force thought they could easily capture Riga and re-enslave the nation.
The Latvian volunteers gathered to defend Riga were outnumbered and outgunned. Yet, they confronted the attackers and, against all odds, managed to repel them from Riga on 11 November 1919 before driving them out of Latvia.
It changed the course of the war, leading to Latviaās outright victory in the war of independence over both German and Russian forces.
Now, every 11 November is Bearslayer Day in Latvia.
It was originally to remember those who died in the battle of Riga, although has grown into a remembrance for all those who fought and serve for Latviaās freedom. The commemoration was banned during the soviet occupation but revived publicly in the late 80s during the Singing Revolution (also known as the third National Awakening).
Latvians did not get tired of fighting for freedom despite seven centuries of oppression from bigger powers. Neither did they get tired of doing it all again after half a century of totalitarian russian occupation.
That is the spirit of the Bearslayer. Itās the same spirit we see in Ukraine today whose defenders are keeping us all safer from russian aggression. We owe them so much.
Whatās all this leading to?
Well, I just noticed that NAFO fellas around the world are organising protests outside all russian embassies on 11 November, Bearslayer Day. The date is a coincidence (in fact, no one from the Baltics is yet involved!), but it seems appropriate.
@NSAFELLA over in London came up with the idea a few months ago. His pinned post has details, including organisers in different cities. If your city is listed, do go along. If your city isnāt listed then be a local organiser!
(The main job is to choose the pub everyone goes to afterwards, although they should also make sure they have any permissions needed, which usually just means filling out a quick form and perhaps holding the protest slightly further away if it clashes with anything).
I think Tallinn and Vilnius are about to get organisers but actually Riga still needs one. So I can update with more details as things come together in the Baltics and we hope lots of you around the world will also protest that day.
There is still time to give Ukraine what it needs to liberate all its people and land, bring russiaās leaders to justice, and end the cycle of russian aggression.
We have the power to do this. Go out and demand it. Be the Bearslayer!
Nils Baumeisters ('03, 196 cm) needed next to no time to show off his smooth jumpshot in the #U20 championship. The wing came off the bench and almost instantly made his first four shots for Latvia.
Also, we remind you that he was born in November and is only 18. #FIBA#LBAP
