Just look at that water! This view from the Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier shows just how clear the Gulf can be. Our sugar white quartz sand is extremely light in color, so when sunlight passes through the clear, shallow water and reflects off the sandy bottom, it helps create those gorgeous turquoise and emerald shades you see from above.

And with water this clear, the pier can be an amazing place to watch for marine life. 🐬🐢🦈 Dolphins, sea turtles, rays, schools of fish and even tiger sharks can sometimes be spotted swimming below!
