The Ending Importation of Russian Oil Act passed the House 413-9 and the Senate unanimously, and was signed into law on April 8, 2022. It bans the importation of all Russian energy products classified under chapter 27 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, which includes diesel.

З вечора й по цей час росіяни атакували Україну більш ніж сотнею різних засобів нападу: реактивними дронами, баражуючими боєприпасами та балістичними ракетами. Значну частину із цих атакувальних засобів вдалося збити. Але, на жаль, не всі.

У Харкові був зруйнований звичайний житловий будинок, рятувальна операція тривала фактично всю ніч – шукали людей під завалами. Від цього удару по будинку в Харкові загинули чотири людини. Мої співчуття всім рідним та близьким. Поранено загалом за один вечір і тільки в Харкові 41 людину. Був і доволі підлий удар балістикою по Києву – п’ять ракет, які влучили по цивільній інфраструктурі. Щодо цього удару, на жаль, не було попередження від партнерів. Розвідувальні дані про запуск російських балістичних ракет допомагають рятувати життя людей, і це одне з найбільш критичних питань. Саме це допомагає запобігати вбивствам, коли попередження про балістику є.

Україна не завдавала ударів по російській нафтопереробці й загалом енергетиці протягом двох діб із моменту оголошення Президентом Америки припинення вогню в енергетиці. Але Росія не послухалась Президента Америки. За цей час росіяни атакували і наші енергетичні об’єкти, і нашу критичну інфраструктуру й дали абсолютно чіткі сигнали, що вони не збираються утримуватися від ударів по Україні. Під ударами саме за ці дві доби були 19 регіонів нашої країни. Наша позиція незмінна: Україна готова до дзеркальних деескалаційних кроків, і потрібен дієвий тиск на Росію, щоб деескалація була. Війни завершуються тоді, коли агресор відчуває, що у нього немає можливості війну затягувати.

Тиск світу на Росію сприяє саме цьому – наближенню миру. Але пряма чи опосередкована підтримка Росії, гальмування допомоги Україні та ускладнення захисту життя від балістики – це те, що точно не спрацює на мир. Мир потрібен всім. Сильна Америка, сильна Європа, сильні партнери потрібні. Дякую всім, хто справді допомагає!
