I have had a great time with @ESA_Sociology in Porto. I presented my PHD work, discussing how young men who have sex with women use and understand non-verbal cues to communicate consent. I also enjoyed chairing the session on Sexuality, Power and Norms, and taking questions.

Thank you to everyone who organised the 2024 School of Social Policy PGR conference. It was a great opportunity to speak about my work and to hear about the other PGR work being conducted in the department.
When children & young people ask you questions on relationships & sex - you don't have to tell them to FIND a trusted adult, as implied in the new Relationships, Sex & Health Ed draft guidance.
Don't shut them down - it's highly likely that YOU ARE THE TRUSTED ADULT.
#RSHE
The new draft relationships, sex & health education (RSHE) policy set out by the government poses some serious risks for children & young people. Imposing age restrictions is dangerous & not teaching about diversity and gender is damaging. Evidence tells us this.
#rse#RSHE
Massively regressive move - not only was there little to no evidence that children were receiving 'age inappropriate' content , this approach stands contrary to what the majority of children and young people (and their parents and teachers) tell us they want from RSE.
