It was great joining @JamesTalarico and @GinaHinojosaTX today in Texas. They're working hard to make a difference in the lives of all Texans, and will be able to do even more as your next Senator and Governor.
Let’s get it done, Texas!
This is ABUSE. The President called ABC’s Rachel Scott a “horror show,” and “a disgrace to our country,” for asking ONE fair question about gas prices and the Iran war. Abby Phillip. April Ryan. Yamiche Alcindor & Rachel Scott. All experience ABUSE from this man!
Bob Mueller was one of the finest directors in the history of the FBI, transforming the bureau after 9/11 and saving countless lives. But it was his relentless commitment to the rule of law and his unwavering belief in our bedrock values that made him one of the most respected public servants of our time. Michelle and I send our condolences to Bob’s family, and everyone who knew and admired him.
Burgers + gratitude = the perfect combo 🍔🍟💙
A big thank you to P. Terry’s Burger Stand for stopping by AUS to treat TSA staff to a well-deserved meal!
We appreciate you helping us take care of the people who take care of our travelers! ✈️
The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.
Good morning and Happy Monday to everyone who won’t forget that trump removed MLK Jr. Day and Juneteenth from National Park free-entry days, then added his own birthday.
The disrespect is deliberate.
As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. taught us, darkness cannot drive out darkness, and hate cannot drive out hate. Only light and love can do that. So today, let’s remember our responsibilities to march hand in hand, to stand peacefully with dignity and purpose in the ongoing fight for justice. To organize. To mobilize. To vote. To believe, no matter how far away the mountaintop might feel, it is in our capacity to change our communities and our country for the better.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dedicated his life fighting for equity and justice. He taught us that even in the face of intimidation and discrimination, we must never stop working towards a better future – a lesson that feels especially relevant today.
Change has never been easy. It takes persistence and determination, and requires all of us to speak out and stand up for what we believe in. As we honor Dr. King today, let’s draw strength from his example, and do our part to build on his legacy.
This is the most neutral summary I’ve seen of the Minnesota murder by ICE. It has ALL angles, it syncs them together, and shows the lead up and aftermath… if you watch this all and still think those shots were justified - you just might be a psychopath.
Finally, the United States is waking up 🚨
Representative Ted Lieu just drew a crystal clear red line, and it matters more than most people seem to realize.
“If any military member, from the generals on down, participates in using force against Greenland without congressional authorization, they are following illegal orders.”
That is not rhetoric. That is the law. And he is putting everyone on notice.
This is how a constitutional system is supposed to work. Civilian control. Congressional authority. No freelance militarism because a president feels impulsive or humiliated or bored. Orders that violate the Constitution are not orders. They are illegal commands, and obedience is not a defense.
What I like here is the timing. This is not said after the damage is done. It is a preemptive warning. A flare shot into the sky saying: think very carefully before you cross this line.
For years, too many people in Washington treated norms as vibes and laws as suggestions. This is a reminder that the system still has teeth if people are willing to use them. And that responsibility does not magically disappear when you put on a uniform.
More of this please. Clear boundaries. Plain language. Zero ambiguity. That is how you stop bad ideas before they turn into irreversible disasters.
