We’re here in Scottsboro where the community gathered to welcome Lt. Derek Porch back home. Lt. Porch was shot on July 26th while responding to a domestic call. A 20 hour manhunt then ensured for the person suspected of shooting Lt. Porch, Daniel McCarn. More tonight on @whnt
The hearing has wrapped up for the day. Judge Elliott says he owes it to both sides to thoroughly review the law and evidence in rhis case before making a decision. I’ll have a live report on what happened in court coming up on News 19 at noon.
This is only the 3rd time since at least 2006 (when we can easily query our records), and likely only the 3rd time in SPC history based on available data, that a High Risk has been issued on Day 2.
