@HiveHomeUK - you have discontinued a perfectly functional product. How do you justify this when resources are scarce and we are in the midst of a climate crisis? We will never buy another hive.
@AldiUK@stroudnews Thank you @AldiUK for apologising for the way this was handled. I am still keen to hear how you are going to manage the area in future to benefit wildlife, but it is a good start.
I was peacefully gathering signatures from @AldiUK customers this morning. All those I spoke to wanted keep the wildflowers but the store manager forced me to leave! #nodemocracy@stroudnews
@AldiUK@stroudnews I'm happy for you to answer it here. All of the customers I spoke to supported the wildlife and did not want to see it destroyed. Why not just say you made a mistake and will take better care of it in future?
Do we enjoy causing disruption? No.
Will we continue to disrupt? Yes.
Why? Everything else has failed.
This is a climate and ecological emergency.

The cornfield annuals in the #UrbanBuzz meadow at Coronation Park in #Wadebridge#Cornwall have been looking lovely in the sunshine. Thanks to Wadebridge Town Council for sharing the photos with us. @BiffaAward@edenproject
@geraldpower@AldiUK@ExtinctionR Certainly not this year and not as well next year because it didn't have time re-seed itself. Plus all the pollinators that were using it are now missing their food source.
What were you thinking @AldiUK ? You have destroyed a wildflower area in #stroud to create a desert. This area was alive with butterflies and wild flowers. Your own manager reassured me it would be protected, and head office were aware. @ExtinctionR
@geraldpower@AldiUK@ExtinctionR They are saying it's been cut but it will re-grow, I suppose at least it's not being replanted with hideous non-native shrubs. It's the wrong time of year to cut it and has still destroyed a perfectly good area of wildflowers. Shows a clear lack of understanding of wildlife!
It's a beautiful day here and the air is full of the sounds of mowers and strimmers, and that fills me with dread. PLEASE CHECK BY HAND before doing any garden work. Some female hedgehogs are still hibernating, and exhausted courting males sleep in long grass during the day.
@HotpointUK - we had our tumble drier repaired, but the @bbcnews page suggests that even these may still catch fire. Please advise if you are recalling these too? Your phone lines are jammed and live chat down. A clear message from you might address everyone's concerns.
