As I get older, I feel I should be more independent and no longer haunted by the past, but those memories still hit me out of nowhere. It used to happen mostly at night when I felt more emotional, but now it even comes during normal work hours.
Lately I’ve come across ideas like "money is just an illusion" or "work is nothing more than a rat race we should escape". Such truths are easy to claim from a place of wealth and privilege. But for ordinary people, is there ever truly a choice?
So let’s just admit that most jobs are ‘bullshit jobs’ (it’s a book), and stop searching for the meaning of work. After all, what’s the meaning of life anyway?
I just saw a comment section on a Red Note post: ‘Can you accept a $20k job that’s actually meaningless?’
‘The $20k is the meaning.’
‘So you think a $3k job is meaningful?’
