My class have got into the habit of calling out “connection!” every time they spot a link between our current book and another we’ve read before - so I decided to map them! Blank spaces left for new books to be added :) (this looked so much better in my head 🙄) #readingrocks
Inference lesson today: each group started with a pair of shoes and had to make inferences about the owner. Then, they were given a picture to develop their ideas. Finally, they had a section of a story to make further inferences about the character. Y6 were so engaged!
I’m really technologically inept but I get asked quite a bit about reading lessons in Y2 and you may remember me saying I was clearing up my computer drive! Well, I’m trying to sort reading bits out and wondered if people would find them helpful? 1/2

Son: I don’t know why we have to do maths homework. It’s not useful in real life.
Me: Yeah. It doesn’t matter at all that half of Australia seems to have skipped maths the day they taught exponentiality.
I think throwing shade is going to do me nicely. I shall use it, and then people will throw shade on me for doing so. It will have a pleasant circularity.
