@Adelphauk @ThomasJPaddock Well, from my experience personally, I don’t just get my patients put in a call stack. I directly speak to the GP to ensure the patient gets the appropriate care required. I.e medications or referrals 🙂

Patient appropriately calls GP, is then told to call 111, 111 then send us, we then refer back to GP. Seems to be a common thing at the moment 🙃

@ParaPaul78 Yes, it absolutely does. Demand outweighing capacity at the moment so lots of people are being directed to 111 when trying to get hold of an appointment with their own GP 🙂 and I think it’s more receptionists than the GPs/clinicians themselves 👍🏻

I love this job but also really really hate it at times. Been sat outside A&E with a patient that has a (quite clearly) # NOF for 6hrs now. Not even an x-ray done. Can’t help but feel like we’re completely failing people

@ruththorpey @spiceblackford 100% agree, EOC can only go by what they are told at the time of the call. However when you do arrive and find out the truth has been twisted to get an ambulance quicker (literally said in their own words), it’s kinda soul destroying 😒

Imagine being sent to a fit & healthy 30 year old with a cold who’s is MORE than capable of self managing at home, whilst an 80 year old with clear evidence of a stroke is still waiting for an ambulance 6hrs later 🙃 and people are wondering where we are going wrong.
