According to confidential senior sources within the UAE, the below list of claims circulating online are false:

- The UAE has never pushed for a nuclear attack on Iran. Not sure why I need to even address this, anyone with a brain would know that any nuclear fallout in Iran would impact the region, including the UAE

- The claims below that the UAE opposing Pakistan’s push to include a condemnation of Israel in the joint statement is also false, the two countries have warm relations.

- The claims about the UAE telling nations Iran must be defeated “by any means necessary” is also false. While the country’s patience is running thin with the relentless Iranian attacks, no such request was made

The UAE is positioning itself, and has been for a while, as the Switzerland of the Middle East.’ Even Iranian expats in the country continue to be treated like any other resident, being shielded from the political events taking place.

🇦🇪 UAE Ministry of Defence just issued a clear denial:
“UAE territory is not being used for any attacks against Iran. It’s not happening.”

This directly pushes back against Iran’s claim that U.S. strikes on Iran were launched from bases inside the UAE, which Iran cited as justification for attacking the UAE.

I have two clear messages:

First, to the United States & Israel:

It’s high time to end this war that is risking to get out of control, causing immense suffering on civilians, with dramatic effects on the global economy & potentially tragic consequences, especially for the least developed countries.

Second, my message to Iran:

Stop attacking your neighbors, they were never parties to the conflict.

The Security Council has condemned these attacks, has ordered them to stop, as it has order to open the Strait of Hormuz.

The prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz causes enormous pain for so many people around the world who have nothing to do with this conflict.

It’s time for the force of the law to prevail over the law of the force.

It’s time for diplomacy to prevail over war.

Right now, there are 201 Ukrainians in the Middle East and the Gulf region. And another 34 are ready to deploy.

These are military experts, experts who know how to help, how to defend against “shahed” drones. Our teams are already in the Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and on the way to Kuwait. UAE air defences intercept 6 ballistic missiles, 125 drones

The Ministry of Defence announced today, March 5, 2026, that the UAE air defence systems detected seven ballistic missiles, intercepting and destroying six of them, while one ballistic missile fell inside the country.

The Ministry added that air defences also detected 131 drones, intercepting 125 of them, while six fell within the UAE territory.

The Ministry stated that since the start of the blatant Iranian aggression, 196 ballistic missiles were launched towards the UAE, with 181 destroyed, 13 falling into the sea and two landing within the country. A total of 1,072 Iranian drones have also been detected, of which 1,001 were intercepted, while 71 fell within the country. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed.

The attacks resulted in three fatalities of Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationalities, as well as 94 minor injuries among individuals of Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian and Turkish nationalities.

The Ministry of Defence reiterated that it is fully prepared and ready to address any threats, and is taking all necessary measures to safeguard the country’s security, sovereignty, stability and national interests.
