This one is heavy.
Jimoh Abdulquadri died in police custody in Ilorin after being picked up over a debt. Reports say he was tortured.
IG has ordered an investigation. Hope this time it’s not just another promise.
Police should protect people, not make them afraid.
I live around cemetery road
Sometimes if I'm going to unity I will goan pass Taiwo just to avoid them.
The day they extort me be like film
The bike man that wanted to carry me said police dey road I told him there's no problem that I no dey do bad thing and when we got there they stopped us and I was smiling. He started asking question and I was doing good boy until this man collected my phone and unfortunately for me I just transferred money to my phone vendor🙂. After seeing the transaction receipt and phantom app on my phone he said I work for yahoo boys.
I tried to explain but he keep twisting my words and he said "oti daran loni" they asked me to enter the car and they carried me from Trillium in yidi road to tanke junction but on our way he started negotiating with me🙂 i had no other choice but to give them money.
The bastard collected DOLLARS😂 $50 then he said i should tell the oga that I gave him 20k and I should say thank you.
May God punish him and the entire squad.
Ilorin police just useless
We need to protest against police brutality in Ilorin 🫵 how can you carry a 32 seater bus with full squad and started chasing boys and cars on the road what level of violence is that
Ilorin used to be super peaceful until this stupid police brutality started. You can’t even step out to get something without finding yourself at a police station. Apparently, you can’t own an iPhone without being suspected of doing something illegal. Is it until there are no youths left in the city? Why should we have to unlock our phones just to prove that we’re clean? Why can’t I move freely in my own city?
@RealAARahman@Kwara_PoliceNG@followKWSG
Do something! Caution your officers! E má pa wa tán! Allow our parents to eat the fruits of their labour.
when una ready, unilorin, kwasu and kwara poly students will choose a day or 2 and protest.
Tipper garage as meeting point, then una go do am go at least 3-4 police stations with message on your hands.
People used to stay back in Ilorin after graduating because of how peaceful the city was. Now, many no longer want to stay because of the harassment they face from the police.
@RealAARahman@followKWSG@Kwara_PoliceNG
This needs to stop!
Ilorin police what’s going on? I don’t have to be a yahoo boy to use an iPhone!
Why are citizens being disturbed? Why can’t I wear a jean and top in peace?? Why are you making a journey of 15mins extend to an hour???
Police brutality in Ilorin ❌
Person go carry bike dey fear
Bikeman go dey fear
Person wey Dem carry self no go get peace
We didn't do anything

Enough is enough man.
On May 1, 2024, my 23rd birthday, I was robbed at gunpoint by three guys under Tanke Bridge in Ilorin. They transferred all the money in my UBA and Sterling Bank accounts.
I reached out to a big influencer here in Ilorin, who gave me the phone number of a police officer. I called the officer and explained everything that happened. Since the robbers transferred the money to an OPay account, I believed there was a chance of tracking them through the transaction details.
The officer promised to handle the case and asked me to come to his office on Monday.
But something happened that I still cannot explain.
About five hours after speaking with the officer, one of the robbers called me and asked why I had reported them to the police.
Yes, they called me.
How did the robber get my phone number? How did they know I had reported the incident to the police? I was robbed on May 1 and reported the incident on May 2. Yet, just five hours after speaking with the officer, one of the people who robbed me was calling to question me about reporting them.
How did they find out so quickly?
I cannot say for certain how my information got to them, but the timing raised serious questions in my mind.
That incident completely destroyed my trust in the justice system. I had been robbed at gunpoint, and when I tried to seek help, I became worried about my own safety.
In the end, I decided to let the matter go because I was afraid of what might happen to me if I continued pursuing it.
Since that day, my experience has made it difficult for me to trust the system that is supposed to protect ordinary citizens.
Imagine being robbed, reporting the crime, and then having to worry about your safety because you reported it.
BEING YOUNG IS NOT A CRIME: ILORIN YOUTHS CRY OUT OVER SYSTEMIC PROFILING AND DAILY EXTORTION BY POLICE OPERATIVES.
Across the state capital, Ilorin, a disturbing trend has taken root where youth, neatly dressed, and with a smartphone are treated with immediate suspicion. For the young people of Ilorin, looking presentable, using an iphone, or simply walking down the street has increasingly become an invitation for unlawful stops, aggressive questioning, and financial extortion by police personnel.
Key transit corridors and residential areas including Oyun, Agric, Tanke, Basin, Pipeline, Adewole, Irewolede, and Asa Dam have become hotspots where young residents are routinely flagged down and profiled without cause.
Law abiding students, tech professionals, creative freelancers, and small business owners are forced to defend their earnings on the roadside, with basic possessions like an iPhone XR or decent attire treated as presumed evidence of criminal activity.
This practice not only infringes on fundamental rights to free movement and dignity, but it also fosters a dangerous climate of mistrust between the public and law enforcement. Daily complaints from affected residents highlight a growing sense of siege, where young people can no longer navigate their own city without the persistent anxiety of being harassed or extorted.
We humbly call on His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman @RealAARahman AbdulRazaq, CON, the Kwara State Government, and the Kwara State Police Command @TunjiDisu1 to intervene.
Kwara State has continually stood out as a state of harmony, innovation, and enterprise. Ensuring that its young citizens can move freely and live with dignity is important to sustaining the state's progress and preserving public trust in law enforcement.
Movement should not carry a tax for being young. Areas like Oyun, Adewole, Irewolede, Henry George, Asa Dam, Agric, Tanke, Basin, and Pipeline must not become zones of fear where looking good makes you a target for extortion. We demand an end to police harassment in Kwara.

Just in: “I was coming from The beach and Nigerian police Harassed me, handcuffed me and collected money from me, over N300k” - Nigerian lady cries out help !
Due to cowardice over here. Nobody will speak up or fight.
We are always looking for ways to evade and adapt instead of facing the issue.
Resorting to not overdress, keeping our iPhones at home and going out with androids instead, it's pathetic.
something needs to be done about these plagues tbh. It's high time we fight it abeg.
