@cyclist_jim @doctor_dru_ It doesn't work like normal "debt" ... however large the amount owed folks only have to pay back 9% of their earnings over £27k ... to pay back £2k in a year someone needs to be earning about £50k ... and it will be written off eventually. Earn less than the threshold & pay £0.

@DOCasBAC @doctor_dru_ @fitzmauriceg This is why it's called a "loan" not a "tax" ... effectively the system is a 9% tax on earnings over £27k per year ... but if it were a UK tax anyone leaving the UK tax system would have dodged it ... this way folks can still be charged if they leave the UK after studying.

@deliveroo @pizzahut this isn't untypical of the orders I get from deliveroo ... I ordered a gluten free pizza ... as the folks at pizza hut will tell you a gluten free base is not round and either way I shouldn't be able to see that it's not my pizza before it's delivered OPEN

OMG my local mini @Morrisons is finally stocking @Longley_Farm cottage cheese ... it has been years since I've had easy access to such a delight! ... I have loved it since QuickSave stocked it in the 90s ... and gone on about it's virtues to everyone who'd listen since!

@JamesClayton5 ... I've still not got an answer as to why I didn't get an alert when the UK tested it's alert system ... my data was switched off sure, but it always is when I'm home using my wifi, and companies have inconsistent responses about sending alerts with wifi off.
