These sanctions reflect broader pressure on developing economies seeking to assert greater control over their natural resources.
They are part of a broader U.S. agenda aimed at suppressing the economic independence of developing countries,
Similar actions have also been observed in other African countries, including Tanzania and Uganda, where pushback followed initiatives to develop and exploit crude oil industries.

At present, around 20% of tungsten consumption in the United States is sourced from Rwanda. Despite this, the U.S. has chosen to sanction Rwanda’s gold refining sector using baseless accusations
#Rwanda has its own natural gold deposits, particularly in the Miyove Valley in Gicumbi District.
With its modern, state-of-the-art refining facilities, Rwanda has also earned the trust of several African countries that rely on it to process their minerals.

“Do we really accept that, as black people, we are somehow less human and inferior?
Accepting it is not simply a matter of saying “yes.” No one will ask you that question directly. You can even say “no,” but if you behave in the very ways that brought us to the kind of history we have lived through, then, in reality, you have accepted it. You have diminished yourself. And your actions become the evidence. The evidence is in doing the very things that others did, or in trying to justify them with explanations that should never be accepted.
There are no two ways about it. Good politics and a good ideology produce positive outcomes. Bad outcomes come from bad ideas. You do not need any other evidence.
Many of you are still young. You go abroad to study. Under normal circumstances, there is nothing they know that you cannot also learn. But you can come back having absorbed ideas without questions, ideas that take you away from who you are and try to turn you into something else, something that is not yours.
Whether those ideas are good or bad, there is one illness I do not think we will cure anytime soon: when, in your own mind, you stop being yourself and begin wishing you were somebody else. Why would you want to become someone else? To achieve what? In our own history, with everything we have been through, that is exactly how we lost our way.
And then you wait for someone from outside to tell you, “This is wrong,” and you immediately agree, without realizing that what is being condemned is you. It is about stripping you of your identity, and you willingly accepting it.” President Kagame | Unity Club Meeting.

With its high patient volume and more than 9,000 eye surgeries performed annually, the hospital is one of Rwanda’s leading training sites for ophthalmology residency, offering hands-on experience and specialist mentorship, while delivering eye care at scale. The Minister also met with doctors training to become eye specialists — to discuss their education and training.

Today, Minister of State @YvanButera joined the Director General of the African Medicines Agency, Dr. Delese Mimi Darko, and members of the diplomatic corps in Rwanda for a discussion on advancing Africa’s health sovereignty through universal ratification of AMA.
In his address, he reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to stronger continental health institutions and regulatory cooperation to expand access to quality, safe and effective medical products for all.
"If sanctions is based on interest , and they don’t have interest in me , how i’m i going to stop that? They have interest somewhere else"
Mediation has failed so the strategy has turned to just bullying and bludgeoning the Rwandans with the stick.
Mediation was never about peace in the region #Rwanda has become a punching bag & a scapegoat to please the #Kinshasa regime...
