@ProfessorStacie Not all students think the same way. Some do better on assessments when you have them working on hands on assignments. While other score better on assessments when they are doing tests and quizzes. Which is why it's so important to get to know your students.
@ProfessorStacie A child's and their parents culture truly shapes how they are. From the way the think about school, the way they learn, and how important school is to them. The diversity in a classroom can make learning more fun as you can teach other children about another students culture.
@ProfessorStacie Some of the lessons I create with have to be adjusted depending on what the student needs. Also how I set up the classroom could be different and if I need to have designate stations at certain times to keep a strict schedule would be a factor as well.
@ProfessorStacie Being a good teacher is about understanding what your student needs. And not just with the learning targets but with their emotional needs as well. I would say I am a mix of Sage on the Stage and Guide by the Side.
@ProfessorStacie For me it was learning about how much pressure the school system and the government put on the teachers. And how I’ll prepared the system is too help students.
@ProfessorStacie@WSMV I agree with the governor getting rid of the state standardized tests . I believe the tests are not able to show where a student is academically and that is an unnecessary added stress factor for the students. If the state want to know where a teachers students is they should
@ProfessorStacie It allows you to know what a student needs and be able to help a student to your full potential. As a teacher you will also be able to tell if something is happening in a students life if you know the student better.
@ProfessorStacie As a new teacher I am worried about not being able to help every kid and give them the time and attention they need and want in my classroom.
@ProfessorStacie I want to be remembered as someone who was able to help a student further there knowledge. And allowed a student to have fun and feel safe in my classroom.
