BBC Charity Appeals Adviser, audio storyteller formerly at BBC Radio Docs & @BBCCIN. If not working I’ll be singing with @thechoir or on a walk. Views my own.
@julian_may You’ll be very much missed Julian. It was a delight and honour to work with you in Docs. There was sonic poetry in everything you made. Go well and I look forward to hearing your next creation x
@StevenIsserlis Can I add this late one to them? Happy day after birthday and hope the year ahead brings good things and trouble-free airport check-ins. Xx
Happy 90th birthday to my wonderful dad @GeraldKingsle15 whose capacity for kindness, friendship, wisdom, musical insight and knowledge is only equalled by his capacity for drinking vast amounts of tea every day. Thank you for everything, you’re amazing xx❤️
@eggsbened I heard about someone who wrote in the inside of all his books “this book was stolen from + his name” . So if he lent a book and the borrower forgot to give it back, that borrower would open it at a later date, be struck by guilt and return forthwith.
It was such a pleasure having the incomparable Martin Amis talking with @JohnWilson14 for this in 2013. Like all guests he had no idea what archive we’d chosen but engaged with good grace , profound insight and a wealth of wonderful stories.
For the sheer wit, verve & candour of Martin Amis, listen to this extraordinary interview. We talk family, friends, fame, regrets (he had a few), and words. Mainly the words.

@GeraldKingsle15@StevenIsserlis I remember that! I’d watched his masterclasses on the TV and couldn’t believe we had this extraordinary charismatic figure at our dinner table with his wife Maud. After the concert he signed this programme for me and my sister.
@JohnWilson14@BBCRadio4 One of my most favourite series to make. Guests never knew what they would hear and there were many moments of surprise and revelation as they listened to their younger selves with @JohnWilson14 With so many of them now gone I’m glad we have this archive.
Sending good wishes to everyone at @comicrelief for your big day. Looking forward to tonight’s programme and hearing how people’s donations are changing lives.
@vincentfranklin@fergusobrienuk Always lovely to see you on screen and it was a moving tribute to the grandmothers. Thank you to you and everyone on this amazing drama for giving us such superb Sunday night viewing.
Could you lend your skills to help the BBC’s work with #charities? We need 3 people to join the BBC’s Appeals Advisory Committee. If you have senior charity experience and an interest in broadcast appeals we’d love to hear from you https://t.co/aPhcF1LitR
