Why does the media discuss climate change policy only through the prism of what’s best in terms of internal coalition politics? That’s the way they’ll judge the outcome as well. Rarely do they discuss what is the best policy as a good global citizen.
@annabelcrabb OMG - I just want to SCREAM. So Defensive, No Reassurance, Lack of Direction, Creates further Confusion. What an Absolute Disaster. I have NO CONFIDENCE in the PM.
"Great and unmatched wisdom"
"I am the chosen one."
"What you are seeing and what you are reading is not what's happening."
"I alone can fix it."
"The press is the enemy of the people."
"[Immigrants] will infest our country."
This is the language of an authoritarian.
What is happening in Australia now is truly terrifying. Our government is rallying for 'religious freedoms' (which normalises homophobia) yet is fighting against press freedom. #auspol#ABCraids
(Note: ABC = Australia's public broadcaster; AFP: Australian Federal Police)
AFP: I’m still staggered by the power of this warrant. It allows the AFP to “add, copy, delete or alter” material in the ABC’s computers. All Australians, please think about that: as of this moment, the AFP has the power to delete material in the ABC’s computers. Australia 2019.
@amandeep86 The million dollar question. I think it comes down to compelling and brave leadership to rally people together and stand up against fear mongering and corporate greed. Oh and the demise of social media.
@amandeep86 Very similar to outcomes in our recent federal election! Major swing away from Labour towards our Conservative Government & extreme right minority groups. So disappointing b/c this election was supposed to be the 'climate election'. Our society really is getting dumber.
MASSIVE RORT: in Chisholm Liberals have made posters in Chinese to look like AEC information that translates to "the correct way to vote is to put a number 1 next to the Liberals and number every other box.” It’s at every booth. When will the @AusElectoralCom pull them down?
