this is the first time they’ve really managed to approach just how unsettlingly the capitol people are described in the book so that’s actually pretty cool
That man’s name was Welles Crowther and he single handedly saved 18 lives that day by repeatedly leading groups of people to safety all the way from the 78th floor of the South Tower. He even carried a woman 17 floors who was too injured and weak to walk. He died during the collapse because he refused to leave anyone behind and went back into the building hoping to find more survivors. He was more of a man and hero than Trump could ever hope to be.
For years, New Yorkers have demanded access to City records about the lasting health impacts of the horrific September 11th attacks. For years, they have been denied and ignored.
That ends today.
My administration is launching a free online portal for 9/11-related documents and releasing the first 170,000 pages today — available now at https://t.co/YnJTIIZ3lt.
These records prove what families and first responders have long known: City government knew the conditions around Ground Zero were dangerous — yet lied to New Yorkers.
Thousands pay the price for this. They bear the effects of that day every time they struggle to breathe or visit the doctor. More people have died from 9/11-related illnesses than were killed on the day itself.
As we mark twenty five years since September 11th, our vow to Never Forget will not waver. We will remember — and honor — those we have lost with the accountability and honesty they deserve.
This is perfect in so many ways. LET YOURSELF BE SEEN, you're getting lapped by people who are courageous enough to press record, publish, post wherever humans with eyes are plugged into the other end... it is ONLY GOING TO GENERATE MORE OPPORTUNITY AND LUCK FOR YOU, just start!!
Banks close at 4pm. Appointments run from 9-5. Shops open from 9-5. I work 9-5 in an office. Everyone is only available when I'm not. I can't go to your shop, the bank, or book anything without taking time off work.
Why did we design society like this ??
Haaland loves carrots and tells everyone how often he eats them. As a result, they have become incredibly popular with Norwegian children, who eat them instead of sweets and call them "Haaland's candy." Carrot sales in Norway have almost doubled this year.🥕🥕🧑🌾
At 14, Zack MacLeod Pinsent burned his last pair of jeans after finding a box of his great-grandfather’s suits, and he hasn’t worn modern clothes since.
What could have remained a teenage phase became his trade. He taught himself historical tailoring and built a business in Brighton, drafting patterns by hand and making clothes using techniques from the 1660s through the 1920s.
His clients now range from museums to people who simply want garments cut the old way. Last year he hosted a Regency Ball at Brighton’s Royal Pavilion that sold out in under three minutes, drawing 150 people from seventeen countries to spend a night dressed for the world Zack decided at 14 he’d rather live in.
GENUINELY, i think that if we adopted a 4-day, 32-hour workweek with livable wages, people would be happier, healthier, and more present. There’s no reason we need to work this much. People need time to rest, enjoy their lives, and spend time with family and friends.
a man told me women need to stop being so independent because men like to feel needed. i said “then learn how to be useful instead of asking women to become helpless for your self-esteem.” he left me on read. i hope he heals or not
