Time sips tea
While I wake up in DC,
Eggs medium, coffee colossal,
Seth in my pocket,
Kindra on my shelf,
Research mindset reprogrammed,
I’ll treat them like glass,
Meticulous, mind mischievous,
I’ll make hay.

In reality, humans shouldn’t matter at all.
An insignificant collection of organisms living on one of trillions of planets,
But isn’t it enough that we experience pondering?
People Matter.
Now, how to make them feel more significant.

Conclusions at the birds of a feather breakfast
Concoct a quill, feathered with possibility,
Ready to leap, quick onto the page
Of a PowerPoint, limitless.

I'm Emma. I’ve traveled from Sydney and I will be posting poems for each day of the 2018 #vcsummit

#SummitToTellYou

The only American invention as perfect as the sonnet –
is what was once said of the Martini,
and though refined,
in prose is just as sweet
as the mimosas they’ll serve
Complete while notes on #PeopleMatter echo through minds.

People Matter.
I ponder, caffeine in my veins.
“Matter” - the physical substance of people distinct from the mind,
that would be coarse to reference here.
People are Matter and People Matter.
