Another busy #Budget2024 Day in Leinster House.
We’ve again given record funding to tackling domestic, sexual and gender based violence - up €12.5 million.
There is so much more we need to do to help women and men who are being beaten, abused, coerced and worse.
This is real delivery on our commitments to build stronger, safer communities and have Zero Tolerance for domestic, sexual and gender based violence.
Fantastic to get this Bill passed through all stages in the Oireachtas this evening.
Delighted to be attending a garden party to celebrate Women's Advocacy Groups and 50 years of @NWCI hosted by @PresidentIRL and Sabina Higgins at Aras an Uachtarain.#Advocacy#celebratingwomen
#RTEInvestigates has depicted the enormous strain on frontline services responding to victims of domestic abuse. We need a whole of government response that acknowledges the pervasiveness &true impact on victims. @HMcEntee@MichealMartinTD@LeoVaradkar @aoibhneas_org @SAFEIreland
This is significant and welcome news. Organisations are keen to work with government to do what we can to eradicate violence against women. @aoibhneas_org is continuing to support women experiencing domestic abuse across our communities on a daily basis.
