me before the pandemic: I can do a full day of work and go for drinks and dinner after and then do 4 more full days of work with events and nights out on the weekend and maybe even a workout in the week
me now: if I move I will need to sleep for 14 hours to recover
I told my friend that I'm emotionally "hitting a wall" and she said "Sometimes walls are there so we can lean on them and rest."
I can't even begin to express how much I really needed to hear that.
There are no ITU beds in the valleys. So you might be 23 and invincible if you get COVID but what if you crash your car? Or a friend takes an overdose or a parent needs emergency surgery? Guess what! No beds for you either. And THAT’S how this affects everyone. Rant over.
No mention - again - of closing borders or shutting airports.
11 months into the pandemic and people currently partying in Dubai can, tomorrow, fly into England without so much as a temperature check on arrival.
Worked the late A&E SHO shift on NYE and came out to this. Hundreds of maskless, drunk people in huge groups shouting "Covid is a hoax", literally outside the building where hundreds are sick and dying. Why do people still not realise the seriousness of this pandemic?
